Description
Soccer fans can play along with their favorite international stars in this interactive adaptation of the 64-match, 2006 FIFA World Cup tournament held in Germany between June and July. Using an enhanced version of the graphics engine featured in 2005's FIFA Soccer 06, the game includes 125 national teams and all-new modes of play. The main mode focuses on qualifying and advancing through World Cup competition in the country's 12 official stadiums, while Global Challenge lets players re-create 125 historic moments from past World Cup tournaments. The Game Boy Advance version includes revamped ball physics and computer AI to better reflect the real-life action on the pitch. Players can also test their scoring skills in the handheld's penalty shootout challenge, and revisit clutch kicks or perfect passes through the manually controlled replay system. Throughout each mode, players have the chance to unlock rewards such as legendary athletes and licensed apparel for use in multiplayer games. Head-to-head matches against a friend are supported via Game Link Cable.
