Description
This sequel to Battlestations: Midway returns players to the Pacific arena for 28 new missions full of strategic WWII naval and air battles. Gamers can choose to make their way through the historically based U.S. campaign, beginning after the Battle of Midway and continuing on through the end of the war, or players can participate from the opposite perspective, with an alternate history campaign that begins at Pearl Harbor and ends with a complete Japanese victory. Like its predecessor, Battlestations: Pacific combines elements of real-time strategy and pure military action by letting players coordinate attacks on a broad tactical level, then switch to any individual plane, ship, or submarine for intense combat. There are more than 100 controllable units, including 21 new fighting machines, and for the first time, gamers can capture entire islands. Five new online modes let up to eight players face off in massive battles featuring more than 100 units, and a new "Skirmish" mode lets two gamers team up to take on an AI opponent.
