Gamers face off against a collection of supervillains, wield new gadgets, and drive the Batmobile through Gotham's streets in Batman: Arkham Knight. The fourth game in the Arkham Series, and the conclusion to the trilogy developed by Rocksteady Studios, Arkham Knight is set one year after the events of Arkham City, when the Scarecrow threatens to release a new fear toxin and forces the evacuation of the Gotham City. Only criminals remain in town, and Penguin, Harley Quinn, Two-Face, and the mysterious new villain Arkham Knight form an alliance to kill Batman. The Gotham City in Arkham Knight is roughly five times as large as the prison area in Arkham City, and players are free to explore as they please, grappling up buildings, gliding over the streets, or speeding through crime-addled alleys in the Batmobile. Batman's famed bulletproof car is upgradeable, and it can smash through barriers, launch missiles, send the Caped Crusader hurtling into the sky, or transform into a formidable tank-like vehicle. As always, the action combines elements of stealth and puzzle-solving with periods of intense, chain-based melee combat, and Batman has an array of new combat techniques, including the ability to seamlessly switch between the Dark Knight and Robin, Nightwing, and Catwoman during battle. In keeping with the previous titles in the series, gamers can take on a variety of side missions involving characters from the Batman universe, including more than 200 new Riddler challenges.
