Disney's series melding toys and video games returns with Disney Infinity: Star Wars, in which gamers take control of characters from the iconic fantasy universe. Players once again set collectible plastic figurines on a special Infinity Base in order to play as popular characters, this time helping Anakin Skywalker and Ahsoka Tano try to discover who is responsible for creating a new droid army. This version includes the full game, the Disney Infinity 3.0 Base, the Ashoka and Anakin figurines, the Twilight of the Republic Play Set, and one web code card. The core game mechanics in Disney Infinity: Star Wars should be familiar to series veterans, as players place one or two figurines on the Infinity Base to enter a particular Play Set and add Power Discs to provide special weapons or powers. However, this version features combat that is designed to be more complex, with full combos and the ability to unleash a special attack before it's fully charged, albeit with diminished results. Some Star Wars characters have the ability to manipulate the Force to push or pull enemies, and characters are also capable of wielding lightsabers and blasters. As always, the Toy Box mode lets gamers take characters and themed decorations from any of the various Play Sets and create new worlds or games. Toy Box 3.0 offers a 3D hub where players can try out various genre archetypes and a variety of multiplayer modes. In addition to more than a dozen new characters from the Star Wars universe, the 3.0 Edition also introduces new characters from the world of Marvel comics, classic Disney figures, and characters from the Pixar movie Inside Out.
